Panacea Cooperative Research and the NSC FSI Continue Cooperation Using the Skeleton-ID Software for the Identification of Unidentified Deceased Persons

Panacea Cooperative Research and the National Scientific Center “Hon. Prof. M. S. Bokarius Forensic Science Institute” of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine continue their cooperation in the application of the Skeleton-ID software for the identification of unidentified deceased persons.
The Director of the National Scientific Center “Hon. Prof. M. S. Bokarius Forensic Science Institute” of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Anastasiia Kupriianova, and the representative of Panacea Cooperative Research, Sebastian Kaiser, have renewed the cooperation agreement between the two institutions. The successful partnership, initiated in 2023, is thus being continued. The new agreement defines the terms of further cooperation, in particular the continued use of the Skeleton-ID software on a free-of-charge basis throughout 2026. Both parties expressed their satisfaction with the results of the previous cooperation and emphasized its importance for the development of forensic expert activities.
Skeleton-ID is a specialized software solution for forensic identification of individuals based on skeletal remains, used in forensic anthropology and forensic medical practice. The platform enables the analysis and systematization of osteological data, determination of an individual’s biological profile (sex, age, stature), identification of traumatic injuries and pathological changes, and supports expert conclusions within criminal proceedings and judicial investigations. The use of Skeleton-ID is particularly relevant in the context of identifying unidentified deceased persons, including victims of armed conflicts and mass graves.
The cooperation between Panacea Cooperative Research and the NSC FSI also involves the implementation of forensic solutions enhanced by artificial intelligence, the development of joint projects, and the improvement of methodologies in the field of forensic science.
The signing of the agreement represents an important step in strengthening international cooperation, uniting the efforts of Ukrainian and foreign experts to ensure justice, uphold the rule of law, and promote the further development of modern forensic science.
