From 16 to 20 March 2026, a representative of National Scientific Center «Hon. Prof. М. S. Bokarius Forensic Science Institute» took part in a study visit to Finland, organized within the framework of the EUAM Ukraine programme with the support of the Finnish Police.
Participants visited Helsinki, Riihimäki, and Hämeenlinna, where they familiarized themselves with advanced European practices in controlling the circulation of firearms, ammunition, and explosives. Oleksandr Kolomiitsev, a representative of the NSC FSI, presented his research in the field of forensic weapons examination, including developments related to 3D printing and modern ballistic analysis, which attracted significant interest from international partners.
The experience gained will contribute to the improvement of forensic methodologies in Ukraine and facilitate the alignment of the national security system with European standards.
