New types of Expert Research Have Been Presented at the Kyiv Branch of NSC FSI

On May 9, 2024, Andrii Haichenko, Deputy Minister of Justice for Executive Service, paid a working visit to the Kyiv Branch. Anastasiia Kupriianova, Deputy Director and Head of the Kyiv Branch of NSC FSI, briefed the Deputy Minister on new types of expert research and research activities.

From now on, research using a polygraph will be conducted at the Kyiv Branch. This type of research is one of the most accurate and, moreover, simple methods of instrumental-psychophysiological examinations aimed at detecting consciously concealed information.

Also, Mr. Andrii was introduced to the library of NSC FSI, which will now operate at the Kyiv Branch. The library's collection includes more than 30,000 scientific editions. The newly created electronic database will enable the formation of an e-library for the free use of literature in each department of the Center. The library premises house a training classroom equipped with necessary technology.

For the past 4 months, the Kyiv Branch has successfully conducted training and internships for 110 specialists aimed at obtaining or confirming qualifications as forensic experts, and considering other areas of professional development, 650 specialists including those from the justice system, law enforcement agencies, judges, and attorneys at law.

What is more, a significant number of engaging seminars and lectures have been conducted in a mixed-mode at the Branch, so having such a classroom will make learning more comfortable and efficient. Moreover, the Branch staff can use it to study the database of expert opinions and research papers.

Currently, the Kyiv Branch is rapidly developing. An increasing number of new types of expert research are being added to its list, allowing employees to constantly expand their knowledge and enhance their qualifications. Modern equipment is used and innovative technologies are implemented, which is undoubtedly a crucial condition for obtaining scientifically sound, high-quality and professional expert opinions.
