Participation of representatives from NSC «Hon. Prof. M. S. Bokarius FSI» in the ENFSI Annual Meeting

On May 28—31, the Annual Meeting of representatives of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI) took place in Madrid (Spain) with representatives from the majority of forensic science institutions in Europe.
The first day of the meeting began with a welcome speech by the ENFSI Board Chairperson, Dorijan Kerzan.
From NSC «Hon. Prof. M. S. Bokarius FSI» the meeting was attended by Kovkina Yevheniia, Laboratory Head of Art, Linguistic, and Psychological Examinations and Perepelytsia Serhii, Leading Researcher of the Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies Department.
The Meeting considered the membership of the Azerbaijan Forensic Research Institute in ENFSI, as well as the report on ENFSI activities for 2023 and the work plan for the next year.

Over the next few days, a representative of the Dublin Research Institute (Ireland) presented proposals for organizing the next Annual Meeting of ENFSI members in 2025. The participants discussed and agreed by voting on amendments to the ENFSI Constitution and elected a new board.

Raimonds Apinis, Deputy Director at State Forensic Science Bureau of Latvia and EU Direct Grants Manager, reported on the status of the EU-Direct Grant 2022; Attila Kuchmann, Director of the Institute of Forensic Science (Kiel, Germany), reported on the most significant achievements of the expert working groups in 2023-2024; Christa Dern, Chair of the ENFSI Standing Committee on Research and Development, provided an update on the Committee’s work.

After the presentations, the participants of the Meeting discussed topical issues of forensic science, ways to solve them and future cooperation.

On the last day of the event, Dorijan Kerzan summarized the results of the meeting.
Full members of ENFSI updated their certificates of membership in the European Network of Forensic Science Institutions.
International cooperation with foreign partners continues in order to improve the efficiency and quality of forensic activities of our country.
